Drive a Stake Through the Heart of the Surveillance State

Imagine you could send this short email to Equifax, Trans-Union and Experian (the three main credit bureaus):

"I, <your name and SSN>, hereby demand that you remove all data about me and my economic activities from all data stores under your control."

Would they be required to comply?

Right now, the answer is no. This is because you do not own the data about you... they own the data.

I am running for Congress to change this. When elected, I will immediately propose the following "Digital Liberties Amendment" to the U.S. Constitution:

All data pertaining to the identity or economic activity of a person, and all information derived from that data, shall remain the property of the person.

This simple addition to our Constitution will secure our identity and privacy - from both corporations AND the surveillance state.

Please join me in this fight for our liberties in the digital age.
