Monetary Reform and Trade Policy

'Free trade' is a wonderful concept - in theory.  But when we spend years negotiating trade agreements only to have their benefits stripped away in weeks as currencies fluctuate, 'free trade' fails to deliver on its promises.

This is the story of the last 20 years.  I will refuse to support any trade agreement until we have monetary reform which prevents other countries from forcing our industries to contribute their competitiveness to foreign bank bailouts and government profligacy.
